Good Quote

Rhett and I were talking this morning and he told me about this quote he read by Emma Watson on Facebook posted by one of my best of friends Kaley. He pulled it up for me to read and I totally LOVE it and thought I would share it with you all.

“I find the whole concept of being ‘sexy’ embarrassing and confusing. If I do an interview with photographs people desperately want to change me - dye my hair blonder, pluck my eyebrows, give me a fringe. Then there’s the choice of clothes. I know everyone wants a picture of me in a mini-skirt. But that’s not me. I feel uncomfortable. I’d never go out in a mini-skirt. It’s nothing to do with protecting the Hermione image. I wouldn’t do that. Personally, I don’t actually think it’s even that sexy. What’s sexy about saying, ‘I’m here with my boobs out and a short skirt, have a look at everything I’ve got?’ My idea of sexy is that less is more. The less you reveal the more people can wonder.”

-Emma Watson

Looking back on my life there are quite a few years I refer to as "the lost years". You know when your trying to grow up, but you don't really know who you are, and you try all sorts of things thinking at the time that they are you, when really your just portraying who ever your hanging out with at the time.

I feel like I have taken on many different identities from my Jr. year in high school clear to 2008 when I finally moved back home from college. I just remember feeling so lost, feeling like I didn't know who I was or what I wanted from life. My style was always the thing that changed. For a time I wore immodest clothing always feeling awkward and really uncomfortable. It just wasn't me, but it was the me I thought I wanted at the time.

I am proud to say that I feel like I have found myself again. It was so refreshing when I met Rhett cause I knew the he loved ME.. not me pretending to be me.. {if that makes sense..} I really always was a modest person.. I love simplicity. I have always felt like less is more.. I feel like once again I am finally living my life the way I should be. I feel like my family can once again finally be proud of who I've become.

I love how grounded Emma Watson seems. Becoming a mom really makes me hope that I can raise our Nadya never fearing to be herself. I hope that in this world of ever failing morals and values she will never be afraid to stand strong for what she believes.

My Birthday..

So Rhett came home last night from work and saw that I had updated the blog and the first thing he said was..... "You left out your birthday!! You have to post about your birthday." {I tried to get him to do the post about my birthday. Obviously I lost!} So here's the break down of my Wonderful day!

7.16.2011
Rhett woke me up with breakfast in bed.. it was super sweet! I do most of the cooking so it's a real treat when he makes something for me! We had German pancakes with home made maple syrup and peach juice! {All made by Rhett except the juice, my husband is awesome!}
Then we went to, "The Worlds Best Flea Market"! It was fun! We walked around and found a local fruit and vegetable grower that we plan on buying from for now on! {I love supporting local growers! It's always ripe, tastes sooo much better, and it's cheaper!!} Ever since we moved to Kentucky Rhett has wanted to check out this Flea Market.. He says, "Flea marketing is a must do when living in the south."
After flea marketing we got some tasty Grater's Ice Cream! I L.O.V.E. ice cream! I don't think you can ever have enough! Then we went on our way to HARRY POTTER!! I am a huge Harry Potter fan! {Even tho I only read books 1-4 we have all the movies!} We loved it! They did such a good job! I'm a little bummed tho cause Rhett and I have gone to see the movies for my birthday every year.. I don't know what we are going to do now that it's over.. :(
After the movie Rhett treated me to dinner of my choice so I chose Red Robin.. YUMM!! We kinda stuffed our faces on popcorn at the movie so we shared onion rings and their tasty guacamole burger. The Burger was.. ok.. we should have sent it back when I look back on it cause the guacamole was kinda brown and had obviously been sitting out long enough to turn brown.. It still tasted good tho. I say we should have sent it back cause by midnight we both had horrible tummy aches that lasted clear thru Sunday.. :( I can only assume it was the burger.. Even tho the day ended on a kinda sour note it was a fantastic day! I loved every minuet of it {even the tummy ache part cause Rhett snuggled with me :)}!

So there was the break down of my birthday! It came and went so fast! Truth be told, I feel exactly the same! no older no younger... just me! Thanks to all for the birthday wishes!
I feel so lucky to be married to a wonderful man who loves me and loves to surprise me! Even tho things don't always work out quite as well as we plan them to, we always have fun. He helps me remember how important it is to see the humor in life, to laugh when there's not much more you can do. Thanks for being wonderful!

Monday Monday..

Is it really Monday already!!? It feels like hours ago I posted last Monday's weekly photo post. My how time flies! Here is last weeks photo collage...

summer 11'2

As you can see it wasn't a particularly exciting week.. but we got things done.

I totally discovered how to make beanies and that is my new "thing"! I love to make them! I just hope that one will be small enough to fit my Nadya's head when she is born!
We have also been working on our never ending "Honey Do.." list of sanding down furniture.. I'm happy to say we have successfully finished sanding down our table & chairs, now we are working on the chest of drawers! {We are going to paint them the same color so I figure why not get the sanding done now and then paint it all at once!} I just sanded down the last 2 drawers today, now we have to sand down the frame part and then paint!! :)

I hope you all enjoy the pictures! Have a happy Monday, and a wonderful week!

Car Thoughts

Ever since we moved to Kentucky our car has smelled like something terrible. It's like dirty gym socks, mixed with a bus full of sweaty football players, mixed with smelly food. We have searched, cleaned it out of all papers and food, Fabreezed it, and put in yummy car smells, with no luck of getting rid of the smell.
I was determined that because the previous owners had a dog and it was filthy dirty when we bought it, mixed with the Kentucky humidity it would never smell good again. {I did narrow down the smell to being somewhere behind the passenger seat but couldn't find anything.} I was beginning to think the only other solution was to get the carpets professionally cleaned, and replace the floor mats. But because we are currently saving every penny we find so we can fly home to bless Nadya, the odds of us actually getting it cleaned this summer didn't look very likely.
I talked to my mom the other day about the stench and she recommended I put in some Baking Soda as a hopeful temporary solution.. Why I had not thought of that before I have no idea. So today I decided to wipe down the car and clean everything that I could to eliminate the smell before I added in some Baking Soda.
As I was cleaning the back seat I checked the pocket behind the passenger seat and Lo and Behold the stink causer!!
I swear I have checked the pockets a million times but obviously not...
When I found the stink I immediately remembered we had watched Rhett's brothers in like February and I made them pancakes. One of them saved a left over pancake and put it in a Ziploc bag. They must have put it in the pocket and forgot about it.
It was one of the stinkiest things I have smelled in a long time and it looked nasty!! I'm so glad I found it. I made some cute little fabric baggies and poured Baking Soda in it and sewed it up. I really hope that it will help absorb the left over smell.

I guess the moral of the story is when your car reeks check and recheck everything at least 3 times before you look at alternate options! :)

1st weekley photo collage!

It's Monday! Which means it's time for my weekly photo collage!

summer 11'1

Our week started out with a fantastic holiday, We made good food, Rhett got to check off a Honey Do from the list, I discovered I could balance a bowl of food on my tummy {a dream I've had since I found out I was pregnant!}, and it ended with a Baby Dr. appointment and Harry Potter Movie Marathon! It was a simple week I know but I had so much fun taking pictures of the simple things we do. Hopefully in the weeks to come I'll have more exciting things to post but for now I'm going to enjoy the simple pleasures life has to offer.

I do have to share, that at our appointment we were at the end of 30 weeks and we weren't expecting to have an ultrasound done. I was measuring smaller then I had at the last appointment so they wanted to make sure Nadya was growing ok and doing well. We found out she weighs 3lbs 8 oz which is really good! She's growing just fine and doing well! I just cant believe that I have got an almost 4 lbs baby inside of me! I don't feel like I am big enough to to have a baby that size yet!
It just makes her being here soon even more of a reality. I'm constantly reminded when I feel her move but, knowing her weight just adds a different layer. I cant help but think of all the things I still have to do and get for her. I feel so unprepared! I know according to my due date, as of today I still have 2 months but I get the feeling I have less then that. We'll see what happens..

Best 4th of July Ever!

So I was going to wait to post pics from our 4th till I do my weekly photo post next week but, we had so much fun I couldn't help but post some pics of our adventure.

4th of July 11'

Our morning started out nice and early, our branch joined with 2 wards for breakfast. It started to rain and was yucky and overcast. I was so worried it would ruin my favorite holiday.
After that we came home and took a quick nap.
Later we went to downtown Louisville for a carnival along the Ohio. We didn't quite plan it out well tho cause Fireworks didn't start till 10:15 and we were there at 3.. {oops!}
My pregnant body wasn't to happy with all the walking around so around 7 we started to head back to the truck to rest and find a spot to watch the fireworks.
On our way back to the truck this really nice couple asked us if we wanted 2 free tickets to the Louisville Bats game and watch fireworks from the stadium. Their friends canceled last min and they didn't want the tickets to go to waste! We were Like, "Heck Ya!!" So we turned around and went to the stadium and watched the game and fireworks! it was so fun! The seats were the bomb! We were so close! And I got to fulfill a life long dream of going to a Game and eating a hotdog! It was a foot long!! {I totally meant to take a picture but I was so hungry I got halfway thru by the time I remembered I wanted to take a picture! Oh well!}
Growing up Rhett always played in the Menan softball tournament. It was kinda a bummer that he didn't get to play this year it had become a tradition. When we got the tickets to this game it totally made up for missing it!
We decided as long as we we're here in Louisville were going to go to the game as OUR new 4th of July tradition!

10 Weeks Left!

I was thinking earlier today about this summer and how this is already4th of July weekend. I cant believe that we have lived here in Kentucky over 2 months already. I feel like I have nothing to show at all for those 2 months!
My thoughts then went to the pregnancy. I don't know if you know but, as of tomorrow I am 30 weeks along {based on my new due date of September 11th}. That means I only have 10 more weeks of being pregnant. It has seriously gone by so fast. I feel so unprepared!
Part me feels a little sad, although it can be uncomfortable I have really grown fond of my Little Nadya's kicking and moving. For some reason the thought of not feeling that anymore makes me feel a little lonely. In the past week she has discovered the right side of my rib cage. She doesn't kick hard but its enough to say, "ok.. time to move!" She makes me laugh. Despite the occasional discomfort, nausea, and frequent potty breaks I'm going to miss this.
I feel so blessed. I know my family was worried how I would handle the pregnancy based on my past health issues but, honestly for the most part I have felt better the past 7 months then I have in years. I keep hearing for being 7 months along I'm tiny. I'm sure in 6 or 7 weeks when I go back and read this post I will wonder what in the heck I was thinking. But it's all how I feel!

So I have decided in honor of it being July already {my personal favorite month of the year},and only having 10 more weeks left, I'm going to do a weekly photo post of things I did during the week! That way when I look back on the summer I wont wonder where it went or what I did.
My goal is to do this for the next 10 weeks. I'm going to start the picture taking this Monday. I figure why not start it off with a BANG! {Cause its 4th of July... get it!?} I'll post pics from the previous week every Monday.

I think its a fun way to look back so join in!
