Rhett's Work

I have wanted to take pictures of where Rhett works and what he does so that family and friends could see but I didn't think it was possible, so I never asked him about it. I didn't think it was possible because he works for a Best Buy Distribution Center where they have tons of product in the building. You actually have to check in your cell phone and any other thing that you may have to take in, due to the fact that they store and ship out those kinds of things every day. They are very thorough in making sure that nothing leaves their building that shouldn't. Which is good!

Rhett was talking to his sister Kylee the other day and she asked him to take pictures so that they could see where he works, what he does, and what its like, and he said, "Oh ya! That's a good idea, I can do that!" Being a supervisor it's not as much of a pain for him to check in his cell phone, he does it everyday. So he took some pictures with his phone and I'm posting them here on the blog for all to see! {If only I had known that would be that easy :)}

This building is Huge! As you drive up it's crazy to see how big it is but when you go inside it looks even bigger! It's nuts! {all these pictures are of the inside of the building by the way, he didn't take any of the outside}

This is a profile picture of the receiving dock. This is an area I cover in the building. All product for the product return center comes in the truck doors on the left of this picture.

This picture is my view from my on floor desk. Behind the yellow fence is the conveyor belt where product is entered into the system by inductors. I've supervised between 12 and 20 inductors at one time. Overall, my crew consists of nearly 30 people.

This view is of our research and repack stations where to the right, store transfer issues are resolved and to the left, open box returns are repackaged to be shipped to vendors.

This area is aptly named "pallet land" where pallets of product are staged and await return authorization.

This is the racking system where pallets of product are staged when we are at regular volume capacity.

The desk in front is my "off the floor" desk where I store my paper work and hide my candy...

On a different note we had another Dr. appointment today and I am dilated between 2 and 3 cm! Once again I know I could be at this stage for quite a while but I figure progress is progress no matter how long it may take, so I'm celebrating it! :) yippee!!
